Unique in the region · Multidisciplinary · International guests · Participants from across the country · Creative production incentive fund · Residencies with universities and centers

During their first year, participants explore future scenarios through masterclasses and workshops led by international experts. The results will be developed and shown in a collective exhibition. In their second year, they will be able to apply for residencies at partner institutions.

Scheme

Masterclass Tania Candiani “Between the archive and the laboratory”

The artist has developed a collaborative methodology with scientists that transforms the encounter between art and science into a space of productive friction. In this masterclass, she explores projects that emerged from this connection to map a way of working in which conversations with researchers, their questions, and their methods become artistic material.

Masterclass "Humaquinatura. Art, biotechnology and the agency of our environment" Solimán López

The session incorporates a series of projects from recent years, including Celeste, Olea, Manifesto Terrícola, Capside, Invisible Pegaso, and Iridia, used as paradigmatic examples of what the artist calls Humaquinaturas. These works pragmatically demonstrate the relationships between art, science, nature, and technology aimed at producing certain social changes and a more positive relationship with the environment we inhabit. The journey ranges from the protection of glaciers as environments of digital memory written in synthetic DNA to space-based readymades that claim the stewardship of minerals in the solar system. In each case, a precise technical operation underpins a larger question about who decides the value and rights of that which is non-human.
