Hybrid Ecologies Workshop by Guto Nóbrega

The artist delivered a training session for the Presente Continuo scholarship holders.

The Hybrid Ecologies workshop explored the relationship between plants and artificial systems based on a theoretical and practical experience. On the first session, the morning was dedicated to setting up a circuit called Plantrônic. It is a shield created by the artist for monitoring the galvanic response of plant leaves. The assembly was performed on a solderless breadboard. Then, a Flow workshop on integrative drawing was held to promote focusing and unblocking creativity, with drawing as an articulator of ideas. During the second session, the scholarship holders worked on the development of a project, conducted tests and presented their first results. Nóbrega, the artist and theorist gave feedback to the teams and each project was explored in a group discussion.
